About Us (the Documatt Story)

The first idea and development of the Documatt, the docs and books authoring tool, began in 2019. Today, Documatt offers the best tools for creating technical documentation, manuals, and help, as well as “ordinary” books. All in an easy-to-use web application. You write. The Story

The company Documatt.com, s.r.o., which covers the development and operation of Documatt, was founded by Libor Jelínek in 2024. Libor has devoted many years to technical writing before that. He has been working in IT for over 20 years as a programmer, architect, or analyst, and he has always liked to write documentation. Documatt is the fulfillment of his vision of an easy-to-write documentation tool.

Behind

Over time, he met and used many different tools and approaches to documentation writing. He realized that for every project and every company, most of the tools and preparations before the actual writing are repeated. Creating an environment for writing professional documentation can be challenging and requires knowledge of the command line, version control systems like Git, text editors, web development, scripting of many repetitive actions, etc.

This led him to create a tool for writing documentation, books, and other similar publications, which hides all the complexity in the background and offers authors an easy user interface for writing.
